Extension Activities

Extension activities form an integral part of holistic education at our college. These initiatives aim to instill a sense of social responsibility, leadership, and community service among students. Through active participation in various units and outreach programmes, students are nurtured to become compassionate, responsible citizens and proactive change-makers.

National Service Scheme (NSS)

The NSS unit of the college functions under the motto "Not Me, But You", promoting the spirit of volunteerism and service. Students participate in a variety of activities including environment conservation, health camps, literacy drives, and rural development programs.

  • To develop the personality of students through community service.
  • To foster national integration and social responsibility.
  • To engage youth in constructive social action and awareness campaigns.

Red Ribbon Club (RRC)

RRC aims to create awareness among youth regarding HIV/AIDS prevention, blood donation, and healthy living. The club organizes health talks, awareness rallies, and blood donation drives in collaboration with health departments and NGOs.

  • To educate youth about HIV/AIDS and promote responsible behavior.
  • To encourage voluntary blood donation.
  • To remove social stigma associated with HIV and related issues.

Bhoomitra Sena Club (BMC)

Established with the support of the Department of Environment and Climate Change, BMC promotes environmental education and conservation among students. Activities include tree planting, nature camps, plastic-free campus drives, and eco-friendly initiatives.

  • To create ecological awareness and a green mindset.
  • To promote sustainable practices on and off campus.
  • To develop student volunteers as environmental stewards.

Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP)

ASAP equips students with job-oriented skills alongside their academic curriculum. Through certified training sessions, students gain technical, communicative, and interpersonal competencies with signed MOU with ASAP Kerala.

  • To enhance students’ employability.
  • To bridge the gap between education and industry requirements.
  • To promote entrepreneurship and innovation.

IRSP – Intensive Remedial Support Programme

The IRSP is a student-teacher-led initiative that offers personalized academic support to underperforming or struggling school students in the adopted NSS village and in the localities of B.Ed trainees.

  • To ensure no child is left behind in foundational learning.
  • To provide teacher trainees with hands-on experience in remediation.
  • To contribute to the academic upliftment of nearby school children.

SIP – Student Initiative in Palliative Programme

Under the SIP initiative, students volunteer in palliative care activities by supporting terminally ill patients and their families. Activities include home visits, awareness sessions, and collaboration with local palliative units.

  • To instill empathy and social responsibility.
  • To integrate care and compassion into the teaching profession.
  • To create community health awareness through student participation.

ELC – Electoral Literacy Club

The Electoral Literacy Club functions in association with the Election Commission to educate students on democratic values, voting rights, and electoral participation.

  • To develop responsible and aware future voters.
  • To promote democratic citizenship and constitutional values.
  • To ensure higher youth participation in the electoral process.

Community Engagement Programme

This initiative connects the institution with the community through social surveys, awareness campaigns, health and hygiene education, adult literacy programs, and fieldwork.

  • To build bridges between the institution and the local community.
