ADD-ON COURSES

In alignment with the vision of holistic teacher education and lifelong learning, our institution offers Add-on Courses to enhance the professional, communicative, and technological competencies of B.Ed. students. These courses supplement the core curriculum and provide value-added skills essential for success in the contemporary educational landscape.

Add-on Courses are conducted in collaboration with recognized skill development agencies such as ASAP (Additional Skill Acquisition Programme), an initiative of the Government of Kerala, and internationally reputed bodies like the British Council.

Objectives of Add-on Courses

• ✔️ Prepare students for competitive examinations and interviews.
• ✔️ Provide certifications from reputed agencies for career advancement.

Courses Offered through ASAP and Other Agencies

Over the years, the college has collaborated with ASAP Kerala to offer a range of skill-based training programs, including:

• 💻 ICT Skills for Teaching
• 🗣️ Communicative English
• 📱 Digital Teaching Tools
• 🌱 Life Skills and Employability Skills
• 🎓 Leadership and Management in Education

These courses typically range between 30 to 100 hours and are delivered through a blend of online and offline modes, often culminating in certification or evaluation.

Current Add-on Course (2025–26)

This course is designed to improve the English language proficiency of B.Ed. students in a comprehensive manner. It focuses on:

• 📘 Grammar and Vocabulary
• 🗣️ Speaking and Pronunciation
• 🎧 Listening and Reading Comprehension
• ✍️ Writing Skills for Academic and Professional Contexts

The course culminates in the Aptis Examination, an internationally recognized English language assessment conducted by the British Council.
