Bafakhy Yatheemkhana B.Ed. Training College is a distinctive college of teacher education to provide qualitative teacher education to all strata of people to encourage talented students towards the noble profession of teaching. The college was started in 2004 under Valavannur Bafakhy Yatheem Khana, a unique charitable institution under Tirur Taluk Sunni Orphanage Committee, which possesses more than 45 years of glorious service to the community. It mainly aims at the upliftment of those who belongs to the financially and educationally backward Muslim minority and other marginalized sections of the society. This B.Ed. College is run by Valavannur Bafakhy Yatheemkhana Management Under Tirur Taluk Sunni Orphanage Committee. MULTIPURPOSE HALL
The college has a multipurpose hall with 120 seating capacity, LCD projector and sound system for addressing a mass audience. College organizes a variety of programmes related to the curricular and extracurricular activities.
LIBRARY
The college library maintains a high standard. The total number of books in the library is near about 8000. It, however, includes varieties of excellent books. The library contains text books on ‘Education’ as well as on other subjects, reference books (Dictionaries, Encyclopedias on different subjects, Atlas etc.) and general books. The library subscribes to varieties of Journals on Education (mainly), Science and Arts subjects. The collection also includes back volumes of Journals, Magazines, Career guidance books and News bulletins about employment. Apart from the borrowing facility, the library has reading room facilities also. The students are totally dependent upon the library for their requirement related to B. Ed course. The collection is continuously reviewed and added with new books to support their needs. Internet is also accessible to the students in the library.
CANTEEN
A Canteen is maintained to provide for light refreshment to the students and staff of the college.
HEALTH & FITNESS CENTRE
The college provides the facilities for the maintenance of health and fitness to be in the general state of health and well-being. It provides yoga training, Aerobic exercises, BMI calculation, small size of training area, gaming devices, sick room facility etc to keep the students fit and well being.
GUEST ROOM
The College has one twin bedded, en-suite room and a vast and scenic dining hall available to visitors, Examiners and other personnels visited for the academic & other purposes.
SUPW
Socially Useful Productive work (SUPW) and field work with community based programmes are organised in the college to help the teacher trainees to develop healthy attitudes towards manual labour and cultivate the spirit of social service as a compulsory part of the Teacher Training Programme.
COMMUNITY LIVING CAMP
College conducting a four days community Living Camp is a compulsory part of the curricular requirement. It is a joint camp of Student- Teachers and their Teacher educators, keeping certain formalities and following a pre/well planned time table. Learning to live together co-operatively, participation in programmes for development of personal and social skills, practicing democratic living, providing chances for division of labour, community work etc., are the major outcomes expected of the programme.
FIELD TRIPS/ STUDY
The college conducts various field trips/ study tours suiting educational requirements of various categories of students. Study Tour / Field trips is a compulsory part of curricular requirement for all students to complete the course successfully. Study tours and field trips shall be arranged with prior approval of the Principal and concerned authority. College authority shall not be responsible for any accident or mishap during study tours or Field Trips.
TESTS/EXAMINATION
There will be two internal examinations in an academic year, which begins in June and ends in March (Two Semester) and two model examinations. In addition to the above, monthly test will also be conducted in all subjects.
Test/ examinations will not be deferred or anticipated to suit individual convenience. No re-examination/re-test will be conducted in any subject.
Perfect order and discipline should be maintained during test and examinations. Any malpractice, even if discovered later, will be seriously dealt with.
Absence from examinations/tests will be seriously dealt with.
COLLEGE MAGAZINE
The college magazine will be published at the end of every academic year. The college magazine committee consist of the Principal (Chief Editor),one of staff member nominated by the principal (Staff Editor) and one elected student member (Student Editor). The Principal has the option to nominate a few more members. In addition to this every optional classes shall publish manuscript magazines and wall magazines.
CLUBS
The objectives of the clubs and forums are to identity and develop the original and creative talents of the teacher trainees. The important clubs to be constituted in the college are: (1) Mathematics Club. (2) Social Science Club. (4) Nature Club. (5) language &Literary Club. (6) science club.
EXTENSION ACTIVITIES
The college undertake extension activities such as AIDS Awareness Campaign, Adult and Continuing Education, Health Awareness Programme, Blood Donation camps, Environmental Awareness Programme, Free Tuition to needy students of model schools, Pain & palliative care etc. Students can opt any of these activities according to their taste and talents.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION, SPORTS & GAMES
The students are given opportunities to handle physical education classes and also to understand things connected with sports organization and sports administration. Facilities are provided in the college for various sports & games.
Every students should take part in the college games unless physically unfit and specially exempted by the principal. A sports committee shall be formed in order to advice and assist the working of Physical Education Department. The Principal shall be the Ex-officio president. The Lecturer in Physical Education, nominated Staff Members, General Captain and the House Captains shall be the members of the Committee

Anti human traffikking committee
An Anti human traffikking committee has been constituted as per the government order and the order from the police department for arranging training and sensitization of personnel, and providing assistance and inputs for prevention of offences, especially ones having inter-state ramifications or features of an organized crime

GENERAL RULES
The main objective is to help the students to build a strong and noble character as also professional competencies. The teacher-students are expected to follow all the rules and discipline of the college and as such strict adherence to the rules and discipline is essential and in the event of disobedience or any indisciplinary act the student shall be liable to be removed from the college.
AWARDS AND PRIZES
With the purpose of encouraging the students in there academic activities, awards and prizes are given to students. Management committee awards and Alumni association awards for top scorers in the University Examination
WITHDRAWAL OF CERTIFICATES
Transfer certificate will be issued only after receiving written application in prescribed format from the students and all his/her dues have been cleared. Two days notice is required for the issue of original certificates submitted in the college.
DISMISSAL
Irregular attendance, disobedience or defiance of authority, malpractice in tests/examinations, injuring the moral tone of the college is sufficient reasons for the dismissal of a student.
AMENDMENT OF RULES
The Principal has every right to introduce, amend or change these rules and regulations in case of exigencies and in furtherance of the aims and objectives of the college, as and when required.
